Friendly staff and always well stocked. The review below by Akil is ludicrous. Of course the owner is a capitalist - he's a business owner. Some of his other comments are also libellous and he would be wise to remove his review in my opinion.

My dogs know the route to Little Creatures. They would walk there themselves if they are not on leash.

The guy who works there (i am ashamed to say i don't know his name) always knows me and my dogs. Even over the phone, he knows who I am without having to introduce myself (and no, I don't have caller-ID available on my number).

But to talk about above and beyond: My dogs eats special formula for their sensitive stomach. The food deliver to the store has been delayed because of the recent storm. I was literally down to the last 3 kibbles after feeding them dinner tonight. I called (the third time today) and he promised me the food will be here tonight. but by 11 pm, I didn't get anything and so started getting panicked and decided to start making them food for breakfast with whatever I had in the pantry/fridge (rice+eggs). by 11:50pm, the doorman called to tell me the Little Creatures guy is coming up. So he brought me a whole bag of similar (but not their favorite foods) because the delivery never showed up to the store and he knew my dogs had nothing left. I am really impressed with his dedication and feel bad that he worked this late.

LOVE Little Creatures!

This is a neighborhood store where there is excellent customer service. We have been buying pet supplies from them for years and they have always been very pleasant and helpful. When we get low on cat food and kitty litter, all I have to do is pick up the phone because they have all the information as to what I always order and are able to deliver what I need the same day.

Love This Place! Jimmy is great and can answer most questions and order any weird item you might need. I love going in there because it feels like the cool music store we all hung out in in college. They get busy but Jimmy handles it all pretty good. They also deliver all over manhattan but it's best if you are north of 50th st. Give them a shot if you need something you can't find, especially prescriptions.

I've been shopping at Little Creatures for forever (like, probably since the late 1980s or early 1990s). As other reviewers have noted, the staff is very knowledgeable, albeit sometimes harried. I've always found them willing to correct their errors--and I've had some mix-ups with deliveries over the years, it's worth noting.

As for prices, I've found Little Creatures to be somewhat on the high side, BUT HEY: They deliver, and they are a small business (so no economies of scale), and I feel an obligation to support small businesses when I can. I definitely feel that I get good value and service for the money I spend there, which is why I've been their customer for nigh on 20 years now.

Great local pet store, with friendly employees and free delivery! I'm a big believer in supporting local businesses, and Little Creature is a terrific pet shop. They have free delivery, and stock a wide range of products. I've been shopping here for many years, and have always been delighted by the service. My dog drags me in there, because Jimmy gives him so many free treats!

Little Creatures also has a location on 525 Amsterdam Avenue (btw 85th & 86th Streets). I was in the area working with a client and stopped in there afterwards.

I was pleasantly surprised. They carry a great assortment of high value food for dogs and cats. Many of the products I recommend to my training and dog walking clients are sold here, including the Easy Walk Harness, Mushers Wax, Wellness Treats and more. Overall the venue is clean and merchandised well considering the small/medium size constraints of the space.

The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. The owner Greg, is especially knowledgeable about proper pet nutrition! I'm a fan..

I think this is a great place. Often stop in there for my pets food, and they have a wide variety. The prices are ok, but I like buying from a small shop, where maybe they remember who I am. It is a good feeling in a big city.

I've used this store for my cat needs over the past ten years. I've found them to be really helpful and prompt in their delivery. I really appreciate that they made a donation to my cats when I mentioned I had adopted (my latest) two adult male brothers from a shelter. Like most things going there in person is helpful, but I've never been disappointed ordering over the phone.

I've never actually been into the store, but several months ago when I discovered my German Shepherd had a food allergy- this store was the ONLY store in Manhattan that I could find that carried Royal Canin dry rabbit food for dogs.

So I've been ordering deliveries of this food with Stella & Chewy's rabbit food (which we use as treats) from Little Creatures for almost a year now. They are always pleasant and knowledgable. Our deliveries are always on time and they actually have some pretty good sales on the Stella & Chewy's stuff sometimes, which is always nice. They also keep your information on file so when you call, they know exactly what you want and it's just so nice and easy!

They are an awesome small business. Highly recommend.

I either shop here or their store on Columbus Ave. Very friendly and they always spoil my dog who really loves the place. They're open until 10pm so it's a big plus when I'm running late.

This is the best pet shop, hands down. I love the people who work there, they have gone above and beyond to help me out numerous times. They have great recommendations also the free delivery is such a life saver. Thank you little creatures team, you have a customer for life! Muffin says she loves the toys best :)

Best in NYC -- a hidden gem. They have specialized foods that Petco and other behemoths and small pet stores don't carry. Super helpful and knowledgable staff. Highly regarded by my vet.

Best pet supply store ever. Recently moved into the neighborhood and they made me feel warmly welcomed. The staff is extremely kind, caring and generous and very helpful and accommodating. They will special order things for you and are open quite late, until 10 on many nights which is a lifesaver. They run a generous sampling program, offering several different high-end treats each day which is very customer friendly and smart. The dogs go bonkers when they get near the store, and since my Birdie is a certified therapy dog, they help me reinforce her training by working with me to get her settled before she gets her treat. They even lent me a leash when I could not find any of mine during unpacking! Daniel, Hilario and every single staff member truly understand the meaning of customer satisfaction. Great products, great service, and really great people! 5 Woofs from Birdie.

I got tired of the rude staff at Pet Health and tried them out. Always helpful, friendly and they spoil my pet. with three stores if one is out of stock they will get the item to you from one of the other stores.

this location is great.  it is better-ventilated than the other "little creatures" in the neighborhood and the customer service is amazing.  they sell more cat items than the other one, too.  sometimes on weekends during the summer you'll see adoption events set up by bronx tails and get to meet some adorable kittens!
